Community Engagement

“The meaning of our lives comes from what we contribute, who we become, and not from what we receive.”Anthony Robbins

Social involvement that encourages personal growth is grounded in research showing that contributing to others, to society, and to the environment enhances self-esteem and motivation, strengthens a sense of capability, encourages aspirations for higher education, improves academic achievement, and fosters meaning, belonging, and responsibility among all participants.

The “Personal Growth and Social Involvement” program is designed to cultivate graduates who are guided by values, who possess a strong sense of self-worth and purpose, who are capable of effective self-management, and who feel a deep sense of belonging and responsibility toward their community, society, and country—graduates who are ready to take an active part in shaping and building them.

Student Council

This year, we continued to deepen the school’s social and community involvement through numerous projects, most of which revolved around the arts—the unique strength of our students. Through art, we seek not only to give back to the community but also to empower our students themselves. We see the arts as the school’s unique identity, and therefore making art accessible to the broader public in Jerusalem is truly our mission.

During the year, several events reflecting this spirit took place, including the “Arts High School in the Neighborhood” event, which opened the school’s gates and invited the community to enjoy a diverse celebration of the arts that included an art tent exhibition, a recital and a community puppet theater, participation in the neighborhood spring fair, a community Kabbalat Shabbat at the First Station complex, a dance project in collaboration with Ilanot School, music ensembles performing in senior homes in the neighborhood, a film and social involvement project with 11th-grade students, the Tikkun Leil Shavuot program, and many other varied and inspiring activities.
